The Trustees

Nick Broady

Chair of the Appeal

Entrepreneur, MD of the Avenue Group and board member of the Honorable Company of Gloucestershire.

The Pied Piper Charity is very close to my heart because as a child I had first-hand experience of the old children's ward at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Many years on, and with tireless effort from all those involved, I feel a great sense of responsibility as the chairman of such an important county charity. The work we do is vital to the children of Gloucestershire. The huge difference we make is not only felt by the countless children and families who visit our hospitals but also in the far-reaching projects and fundraising that improves the lives of children at so many schools and centres in Gloucestershire. I enjoy speaking to local Businesses and groups to encourage as many people as possible to support the Pied Piper Appeal.

Julie Kent

Vice chair of the Appeal

Julie is a Housemistress and music teacher at Dean Close School in Cheltenham. Sadly after losing her first child to a brain tumour at the age of three Julie and her husband formed the Emily Kent Charitable Trust and raised thousands of pounds for children with cancer in Gloucestershire. They donated £50,000 to the Pied Piper Appeal and when the new Children's unit was built the Oncology ward was named the Emily Kent Ward along with a ward in the Bristol Children's Hospital.

Since joining the Pied Piper in September 2014 Julie has been an active member of the group and was proudly appointed Vice Chair in December 2015 in recognition of her hard work and to help take Pied Piper to the next level, working with the Pied Piper team, Trustees and Chairing the Promotional Board.

Rob Freeman

Chairman of the Trustees

As a Father myself, the Pied Piper Appeal is a charity that is close to my heart. I have supported the Pied Piper for over six years and have enjoyed every minute. It gives me a chance to give back to the community.

I am the owner of local business, Malvern Tyres, which is heavily involved in the Gloucestershire Motor Show. I also work alongside business sponsors of the charity to facilitate and support the process.

Richard Wilkey

Trustee

Rich is managing partner of the Cheltenham office of law firm Harrison Clark Rickerbys. He is delighted to be part of the Pied Piper team, bringing enthusiasm to the trustee board whilst also giving something back to the local community (and where needed by the charity, providing legal advice!). A little known fact is that Richard used to be a nurse during the summer holidays whilst he was at University, working with children with severe special needs. The fantastic work that charities provide to the children and families under such circumstances and those which the Pied Piper handle, is therefore very close to his heart.

Richard is keen to use the network of clients and contacts of HCR to spread the Pied Piper Appeal message and to encourage support for the charity.
