Fundraising: Schools
Did you know you can raise money for a very special cause that will help kids, just like you, in Gloucestershire?
Join us this year to help make a difference for sick children in the County.
Loads of schools have already joined in by doing all sorts of activities. How about a sponsored spellathon or non-uniform day? Our FUNraising pack has got loads of great ideas on how to raise money.
It'll also tell you how to organise an event, how to get your friends involved and how to get your school in the newspaper or on the radio.
Once you've finished your event, send us your photos and we'll put them on this page. So make sure you come back and visit us soon.
Why not request a FUNraising pack or call Wendy on 0300 422 6119 and we will send you one.
Don't forget to get your teacher's permission to organise any events at school.
Would you like to know what you could be raising money for?
A member of The Pied Piper Team would be happy to visit your school to explain about the Children's Centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital and show you some examples of the child friendly medical equipment which the nurses and doctors use for sick children in hospital to help them get better faster and make them happy.
Pied Piper Primary school visits reduce hospital fears
Over two years ago The Pied Piper Appeal began a free, school outreach service, travelling to primary schools across the County to help them find out just what a hospital visit is like and to help allay their worries and fears about hospital treatment.
The Pied Piper has visited over 60 primary schools now across the County from small village schools to larger primaries in towns and cities. Sometimes talking to one class or sometimes the whole school in assembly.
The charity explains about some of the things the children may not be familiar with when they come into hospital. Above all the message is that everyone in hospital is there to help them.
Many of the children have really enjoyed the visit and in appreciation have arranged a fundraising event resulting in over £12,000 for the Appeal so far.
