Nick Broady

Chairman of Pied Piper

Entrepreneur and MD of the Avenue Group; board member of the Honourable Company of Gloucestershire; president of Brickhampton Golf Club.

The Pied Piper Charity is very close to my heart because as a child I had first-hand experience of the old children's ward at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. Many years on, and with tireless effort from all those involved, I feel a great sense of responsibility as the chairman of such an important county charity. The work we do is vital to the children of Gloucestershire. The huge difference we make is not only felt by the countless children and families who visit our hospitals ,but also in the far-reaching projects and fundraising that improves the lives of children at so many schools and centres around Gloucestershire. The results we achieve are my driving force.

In 2013, we merged the Friends of NHN with Pied Piper and it was then I was honoured to become a Pied Piper trustee. Elsewhere, I am medical adviser to the Chernobyl Children's Project and liaise with Belarusian paediatricians, many of whom have visited me in Gloucester, on educational attachments. I enjoy walking and cross-country cycling. I organise the 25-mile charity bike ride which is now part of the Pied Piper Walkathon. I also enjoy playing piano and organ and visiting my three children who are scattered around the world.

I was the original chairman of The Pied Piper Appeal when it was founded in 1992 to raise funds to support the development of a new Children's Centre at Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. In 2004 although I stood down as Chairman I remained a Trustee and in 2013 was honoured to be made President of the Pied Piper.

I am extremely proud of what we have achieved for sick children in the county. As an experience it has been humbling, but I have had a wonderful time raising money over the years.

I joined the Pied Piper management board two years ago and am now in training for the city's first Sportive in June 2014, as well as working hard behind the scenes to make it happen.

Promotion Board Member

Owner, Pentacom PR

As a marketing professional I have a passion for creative writing and social media, working on traditional and digital marketing projects, I enjoy new challenges and working with the Pied Piper allows me to help make a difference for poorly children in our county and further the reach of this great charity.

I always seem to have a special and rewarding project on the go, from working for Gloucester Rugby's Peter Buxton on his successful testimonial year to blogging for the LEJOG cycling team to supporting grassroots rugby. I am thrilled to be working alongside the great guys at Pied Piper whether its organising fund raising events, writing news pieces, or doing social media pushes for the next campaign to help raise awareness and monies. When not at work, being a Mum or feeding the chickens, I love tennis, golf, the odd G&T, and supporting rugby in our county!

Paul Baldwin

Since leaving Sir Thomas Rich's school in 1982 I have worked for Brunsdon and was made a Partner in 1994. I am now the Financial Services Operations Director and a have a passion for what we do and for whom we do it. I am also the Chair of Brunsdon's 'Heartfelt' fund raising foundation which over the years has raised in excess of £100,000 for local charities, including Pied Piper.

I was honoured to be asked to join the Promotional Board and I am looking forward to helping Pied Piper achieve its goals.

Outside of this, I love spending time with my family. I am enthusiastic in the kitchen, a keen follower of Gloucester Rugby and Aston Villa, although not admitting to the latter at the moment. Until weight and gravity took hold I was often seen charging around the many rugby fields about the county and convincing people in the bar that one day Twickenham would come calling - It never did!

Freddie Snr & Jnr

The latest members to join the Pied Piper Appeal team of fundraisers in 2016 sees the recruitment of Freddie the Teddy Snr and HCR_Freddie Jnr.

Their remit is to spread the Charity's name far and wide this year as the Pied Piper is set to hold and attend a record number of fundraising events with businesses and individuals.

Both Freddie's enjoy social evenings out, travel (in the county) and sport whether that's Gloucester Rugby or the Gloucestershire Motorshow. Thanks to Cheltenham-based solicitor Harrison Clark Rickerbys (HCR Law) for their support in donating the rather plush Freddie Jnr. Freddie Snr was already employed by the charity and a resident at Dean Close School having been donated by a kind student.

You can stay up-to-date with the bear's exploits on the Pied Piper social media channels but also keep an eye out for them, they will be coming to an event near you soon!
